The primary celebrations on the island are two annual homecomings occurring in August and during Easter. At the events, hundreds of descendants of the Island come together to participate in church services, sporting events and parties.

JUNKANOO



"Junkanoo" is a festival held on Boxing Day and New Years day. This is a street festival where various groups dress in an array of costumes and rush (dance) on the streets to the rhythmic music of cow bells, horns and drums. The groups are judged based on the best music, costume and theme.

NATURE PRESERVES

BOOBY CAY

The waters between Northeast Point and Booby Cay, as well as Booby Cay itself, are set aside as nature preserves.

CURTIS CREEK
Curtis Creek is a beautiful area with portions set aside as a nature preserve.

BLACKWOOD POINT
Blackwood Point Nature Preserve is located between Pirate's Well Settlement and Blackwood Point.

PIRATE S WELL CREEK
A portion of the eastern side of Pirate's Well Creek is set aside as a nature preserve rich in marine life.
