ANDROS WALL DIVES

The Andros Wall

The “greatest of all Bahama walls” is found at Andros, the largest island in the chain. The Andros Wall offers uncountable sites that display mountains and canyons of every shape and size.

OVER THE WALL

The split-level Over the Wall dive at Fresh Creek takes novices to the 80-foot ledge and experienced divers to a pre-Ice Age beach at 185 feet. The wall is covered with black coral and all kinds of tube sponges. Over the Wall offers a spectacular look at the marine life of The Islands Of The Bahamas. You descend 70 feet to see the groupers, barracudas, parrot fish, groups of spadefish and yellow jacks. The mysterious deep descent at the Tongue of the Ocean abyss is an excellent photography dive and one of the most popular spots just minutes out of the harbor.

HOLE IN THE WALL

This dive site was discovered by Archie Forfar 25 years ago and rediscovered by a team of Small Hope Bay divers in 1993. The site begins at the edge of the wall at 120 feet where the "hole" will lead you through a large passage opening down at 200 feet on the wall. Besides this site being rather deep, the hole and tunnel are large and spacious, with plenty of light that allows for a relaxed dive.

TURNBULL'S GUT

Divers jump into the cool Bahama waters and slip into a crevice at 90 feet that shoots down to 120 feet, then out and over the wall in the Tongue of the Ocean.

WHIP WIRE WALL

This is a multi-level dive where the top of the wall starts at 80 feet and as you go over at 120 feet the sheer wall begins with whip wire corals protruding.

HANGING GARDENS WALL

This is a pristine spot at 100 feet that drips with sponges, sea whips, and gorgonia.
