This resort was first started as a dive shack by Dick Birch, and has grown into a resort. During his reign at the Lodge, Mr. Bair has taught scuba diving to the Prime Minister of Canada, Pierre Trudeau, and the Prime Minister of the Bahamas, Mr. Pindling. Mickey, a PADI Certified Instructor, guides all of your dives. Some of our best sites are only a 15-20 minute boat ride from our beach. You step out of your room and onto our 34-foot dive boat. The maximum number of divers we will take is 10, so the trip is always comfortable. We run snorkel trips to the reef and to some nearby blue holes. You can also take a kayak and explore the blue holes on your own. You can take a bike and access an inland blue hole where you can usually catch site of some turtles and barracuda. Sunny, your personal guide will take you out to the reef and stay with you the entire time you are snorkeling. Getting back into the boat is easy with our boat ladder. For those that really want adventure we will guide you in how to spear lobster! You’ll be taught how to use the “Hawaiian sling” style spearing for your exciting lobster hunt. mere 120 yards out from the beach and you’ll be at a small reef. Kayak out to another reef just 300 yards away, or the final barrier reef, 400 plus yards.
